Q. How long will my BeaconBuoy light run on each
charge?
A. BeaconBuoy Classic will provide light for up to 6 hours depending on
how much charge it has and how old the light is, the older the battery the
less run time it will provide. A BeaconBuoy Deluxe will run for up to 8
hours on a charge depending on the same conditions as stated for the
Classic.

Q. How long does it take to charge my BeaconBuoy?
A. It takes 10-12 hours to provide a full charge. It is strongly
recommended that you leave the BeaconBuoy on its charger. It will not harm
your light and it will always be ready for you when you need it most.

Q. How far will the light from my BeaconBuoy
travel under water?
A. That depends completely on how clear the water is that you put it in;
in clear water it will light an area as far as 40 feet in every direction.

Q. I have a GlowBuoy for my pool. Will my
Accessories fit the BeaconBuoy I bought for my cottage and boat?
A. Yes, all of the Accessories for the GlowBuoy may be used with the
BeaconBuoy.

Q. I use my BeaconBuoy for fishing during the
summer. Can I use it for fishing in the winter?
A. Yes, you can use the light for fishing where it is legal, however, the
BeaconBuoy has a temperature shut off mechanism that will not allow it to
be charged when below 0 degrees Centigrade or 32 degrees Fahrenheit; this
is to protect the batteries from damage.

Q. How many charges will I get from my BeaconBuoy?
A. You will get approximately 1,000 recharges from your BeaconBuoy if you
remember to leave it on the charger when not in use.

Q. How many hours will the bulb burn before I have to
replace it?
A. The bulb will last for approximately 8,000 before needing replacement.

Q. Can I charge my BeaconBuoy from my car or boat
battery?
A. Yes; if you have purchased the Optional 12 Volt Charge Adapter. It can
be charged either in the cigarette lighter or by using the Alligator Clips
and hooking it directly to the car or boat battery terminals. You can also
run any other 120 or 220 volt appliance with the BeaconBuoy 12 Volt Charge
Adapter, depending on the model you have.

Q. When I was in the hardware store the other day
I saw a Transmitter Key Fob for turning BeaconBuoys on and off remotely.
Will this work with my BeaconBuoy?
A. Yes. All BeaconBuoys are shipped with receivers built right in them.
All you have to do is buy the Optional Remote Control and your BeaconBuoy
will then turn on and off remotely too.

Q. I have two BeaconBuoys; do I have to buy a
Remote Control for each light?
A. No. The BeaconBuoy Remote Control is designed to operate any BeaconBuoy
to save you money and offer you more convenience when trying to control
more than one light around your dock or boat.

Q. I saw colored lenses in the sporting goods
store designed to fit my BeaconBuoy, what are they used for?
A. They were designed primarily for fishers but many people like to use
them for ambience around the dock and boat during parties and
get-togethers.

Q. Can I use the Optional Hanger for my
BeaconBuoy at the same time that I use the Optional Table Stand?
A. Yes. The Table Stand was designed to snap securely on your BeaconBuoy
so that you could use it like a lamp shade to protect your eyes when used
with the Optional Hanger.

Q. Do I have to be worried about my BeaconBuoy
breaking if I drop it, or it falls from a shelf, table or counter?
A. Under most circumstances, no, you don’t have to worry about it
breaking. While it is not guaranteed against breakage due to sharp falls,
it is designed to withstand most falls of less than 40 inches. The body is
made of Lexan, the same material used to make SWOT helmets, shields and
bulletproof glass, and the light bulb has been hardened as well. If you do
not make a habit of dropping your BeaconBuoy or throwing it around, it
should last for years and years of use.

Q. Do I have to worry about my children playing
with my BeaconBuoy under water?
A. No. The BeaconBuoy is waterproof to 10 feet for over 30 minutes and
waterproof forever at 3 feet under.

Q. What happens if I forgot to turn my BeaconBuoy
off when leaving the cottage on Sunday night and it has been left on all
week long?
A. Your light has experienced a Deep Discharge and to preserve its long
life you should allow the BeaconBuoy to charge for up to 32 hours before
using again.

Q. How do I clean my BeaconBuoy?
A. Your BeaconBuoy should be cleaned with hot soapy water; strong cleaners
should be avoided as some are costic and might cause the Lexan housing to
cloud.

Q. How do I repair my BeaconBuoy if the batteries
fail or the bulb burns out?
A. Please refer to your manual or the Troubleshooting, Service and Support
section in this Web Page for detailed instructions.

Q. How do I dispose of my BeaconBuoy when it is
finished its life?
A. The BeaconBuoy contains recyclable batteries and these should be
properly disposed of, the rest may be disposed of in a normal fashion.
Contact your local government for instructions on battery disposal in your
jurisdiction.
