| FAQ:
|
The sand filter is discharging sand back into
my pool. Why is this happening? |
| Answer: |
If this is a new installation it could be one
of the following reasons. |
| |
- Check to be sure you have the hoses properly connected
to the filter valve. One is marked "pump" which is the water from the
pool, the other is marked "pool" which is the return to the pool.
- The laterals at the bottom of the pipe are not tight.
Be sure you check them to be sure they did not come loose during shipping
before adding the sand.
- When you poured the sand into the filter some went down
the main pipe. Be sure you have installed the sand funnel in the top of
the tank before adding sand.
- It is possible you may have a cracked lateral, this is
very rare on a new system.

| FAQ: |
Last season the sand filter worked fine. This
year it is discharging sand into the pool. |
| Answer: |
If the system was not completely drained at
the end of the season the remaining water may have frozen in the laterals
causing them to break. You will need to replace the laterals. |
